Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch plans at any time? Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. When upgrading, the difference is calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Is there a contract period? No. All plans are billed monthly with no minimum term. No lock-in, no risk.
What happens if I downgrade? Without an active paid plan, you are automatically downgraded to the Free plan – with no data loss. Checks and data that exceed the Free plan scope are deactivated.
Do you offer annual billing? Yes, with annual billing you save 2 months. Contact us for a custom quote.
Do I need a credit card for the Free plan? No. The Free plan is free forever and does not require any payment information.
What are check slots? A check slot is a monitoring capacity. Your plan includes a fixed number of slots (e.g. 50 in the Business plan). Each check uses at least 1 slot. With multi-region, every additional region of a check consumes another slot. Example: 1 check across 3 regions = 3 slots.
What are SMS credits? SMS credits are your monthly budget for SMS notifications during incidents. Business includes 25, Agency 75 and Enterprise 250 credits. Additional 100 credits are available as an add-on for EUR 9.90/month. Unused credits expire at the end of the month.
How does multi-region work? Multi-region checks run in parallel from several geographic regions (e.g. Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Virginia). Each additional region consumes 1 check slot. A check in 3 regions uses 3 slots. This avoids false alarms from local network issues and detects geographic outages reliably.
What happens when my SMS budget is used up?
When your SMS credits are used up, further SMS messages are moved to a dead-letter queue and not sent out. You receive an admin email notification. All other alert channels (email, Slack, Teams, webhook, etc.) continue to work without restriction. Additional credits can be added via the extra_sms_100 add-on (EUR 9.90/month for 100 credits).
What is the difference between reminders and escalation? The reminder ladder (Business and up) sends recurring reminders to the same recipient while an incident is open – e.g. SMS every 15 minutes, email every 4 hours. Per-channel override lets you tune each channel individually. Escalation policies (Agency and up) go a step further: if level 1 does not respond within X minutes (no acknowledge), level 2 is paged – e.g. on-call handover or team lead. Both mechanisms complement each other: reminders keep the same recipient engaged, escalation pulls in the next line of defence.
When is the Agency plan worth it? The Agency plan (EUR 79/month) pays off as soon as one of these applies: (1) you serve multiple clients and need client workspaces with white-label status pages, (2) you run on-call rotations and need escalation policies with acknowledge buttons so that not every alert lands on you personally, (3) you want branded per-client PDF reports as SLA proof, or (4) you need more than 50 check slots (Agency has 125). For single-person solo operators without agency logic, Business is usually enough.
Does using my dashboard count against the API quota? No. Your dashboard, loading checks, incident views and status pages run under a separate, generous rate-limit policy (600 requests per minute per user), independent of the plan quota. The API quota only applies to API-key access — that is, MCP integrations (Claude, Cursor), your own scripts, curl, Zapier and similar tools.
What happens when I hit the daily API quota?
Further API-key requests receive a 429 Too Many Requests response with the header X-Plan-Limit-Day-Reset, which indicates the reset time (midnight UTC). Your dashboard remains unaffected. Options: wait until the reset, book an add-on package (extra_api_5k/25k/100k, shipping with the next release) or upgrade your plan.
Do SignalR connections count as API calls? No. SignalR runs over the same web session as the dashboard and does not count against the API quota.
